Hello, everyone 👋
#

My name is Andrés Montaña, although most people simply call me “The Montaña”.

Who am I?
#

That’s quite a philosophical question—epistemologically complicated, even… But for me, the answer is simple: I am who God says I am: His child.

Now, you’re probably wondering what else there is to know about me.

I’m in my final year of Industrial Engineering. I’m passionate about programming, even though my formal education isn’t in software engineering. I enjoy constantly learning, exploring new technologies, and challenging myself with new ideas.

I also love reading and writing, statistics, mathematics, linear programming, and, above all, teaching and sharing what I learn. I believe knowledge doesn’t belong to us—it should be used to serve others.

So… how do I earn my 🥖? How do I pay the bills? 😅
#

Over the past few years, I’ve worked in Workforce Management (WFM), where I’ve had the opportunity to automate repetitive tasks and analyze data using tools such as Power Automate, Power BI, Power Query, VBA, SQL, R, and Python. I also enjoy web development, so I regularly work with HTML, CSS, and occasionally JavaScript and PHP.

Part of my work involves building demand forecasts, analyzing service levels and AHT, and creating schedules that help operations run as efficiently as possible.

I don’t like staying idle, though, so I have another way of making a living. I absolutely love cooking barrel-roasted meat, and—according to my friends—I’m pretty good at it. Crispy pork belly, pork shoulder, whole pork legs, chicken wings, marinated drumsticks, and soon… smoked barbecue! 🤤

In fact, my friends often ask me to cook for them, so it has turned into a nice little side business. I’d say it’s a win-win for everyone.

Why this blog?
#

This blog is my little corner of the internet where I share what I’m learning about programming, automation, data analysis, productivity, and whatever else sparks my curiosity.

I don’t claim to have all the answers. My goal is simply to document the journey, share ideas, and hopefully help someone solve a problem or learn something new along the way.

If you’d like to know more about why I started this blog and the story behind it, feel free to read this post..

See you around!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find something useful, interesting, or at the very least, something enjoyable to read.

I enjoy meaningful conversations—especially about Christ, faith, technology, and the things we learn throughout life. If you’d like to chat, ask a question, or just say hello, feel free to get in touch.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you.

God bless you! 🙏
